frequently asked questions

Have questions? We’re here to help

1. What is the custom process like?

First, you’ll fill out my custom inquiry form. From there, I’ll reach out so we can talk through your ideas - inspiration, materials, timeline, and budget. This is where we start shaping the vision together.

Once we’ve landed on a direction, I’ll share initial renderings to establish proportions and overall feel. We’ll refine and tweak the design until it feels aligned and exactly how you’re envisioning it.

If the project requires it, I’ll then develop detailed CAD renderings for your approval. You’ll have the opportunity to review everything and request final adjustments before we move into production.

From there, your piece is brought to life - wax printing, casting, polishing, stone setting, and final finishing. Throughout the entire process, I keep communication open so you always know where your piece stands.

Creating something custom is collaborative and intentional, and I’m here to guide you every step of the way.

2. What is the starting price for custom projects?

Pricing depends on several factors — the type of piece you’re creating (ring, necklace, etc.), the materials used (14k or 18k gold, silver, platinum), the stones selected, and the overall intricacy of the design.

Once you share your budget in the inquiry form, I can guide you toward design options that align beautifully within that range. I always aim to be transparent and thoughtful, helping you create something meaningful while staying realistic about investment.

3. What is the timeline for a custom piece?

Most custom pieces take approximately 4–6 weeks from the time the design is finalized to completion. Timelines begin once a deposit is received and the final design has been approved.

Because each piece is made to order and often involves multiple production stages, timing can vary based on complexity and materials. If you’re working toward a specific date, I always recommend sharing that early in the process.

Rush orders may be available on a limited basis and can include an additional fee.

4. Can I use my heirloom gold + stones?

Absolutely!! Working with heirloom materials is one of my favorite parts of the custom process and often what makes these pieces so meaningful.

Heirloom gold can either be incorporated directly into your piece through casting, or used as a melt value credit toward the final cost. The best option depends on the material and the design, which we’ll determine together.

I’m happy to work with most heirloom stones as well. However, if a stone shows signs of damage or is particularly fragile (such as opals or pearls), I may recommend alternative options to ensure the longevity and integrity of your piece.

5. Do you offer returns on custom pieces?

Because each custom piece is made specifically for you and involves an extensive design and production process, I’m unable to accept returns or exchanges on custom orders. All custom sales are final.

That said, your satisfaction is incredibly important to me. If any concerns come up, I’m always happy to work together to find a thoughtful solution and make sure you feel confident in your piece.
